Melai Cantiveros has renewed her commitment to ABS-CBN, affirming her loyalty to the Kapamilya network that helped launch her career.
The TV host-comedienne, who first gained fame as the Big Winner of ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up’ in 2009, shared that she has never considered transferring to another network.
“Hindi ko maimagine ang sarili ko na wala ako sa ABS-CBN,” Melai said. “Sinabi ko nga ito kay Ma’am Cory (Vidanes), Sir Mark (Lopez) at Sir Carlo (Katigbak) noong pandemic na kung wala na ang ABS-CBN, uuwi na lang ako ng GenSan rather than to go the other [network],” she explained.
Currently, Melai hosts her own Bisaya online talk show, ‘Kuan On One’ (KOO), which has already been met with enthusiasm for its humor. She has also resumed taping for fresh episodes of ‘Magandang Buhay’ and recently concluded the latest season of ‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ where she served as a host.
Melai’s journey with ABS-CBN began with her ‘PBB’ win in 2009. Her infectious personality and versatility have since made her a mainstay on Philippine television, including winning the first season of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ in 2015. With numerous roles in various shows like ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya,’ ‘We Will Survive,’ and ‘Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul,’ Melai remains a beloved figure in Philippine entertainment.
