Maxie Andreison has been named the winner of ‘Drag Race Philippines’ Season 3, taking the crown after an intense competition against 10 other queens.
After ten episodes filled with challenges, runway looks, and performances, Maxie claimed victory, securing her spot as one of the top drag queens in the Philippines.
Maxie, who had already won three challenges leading up to the finale, competed alongside fellow finalists Angel, Tita Baby, and Khianna in the final episode. The queens strutted down the runway for a ball featuring three categories: First Time’s A Charm, Art Attack Extravaganza, and Come In Your Best Drag. They were also tasked with performing original songs in the ‘GRAND T.I.T.E. (Totally Impressive Talent Extravaganza)’ to earn their place in the Top 2.
Maxie and Khianna’s performances secured their spots in the final lip-sync battle, eliminating Angel and Tita Baby. In the showdown, Maxie and Khianna faced off to the tune of ‘Lipad ng Pangarap’ by Angeline Quinto and Regine Velasquez. Maxie ultimately triumphed, winning the crown.
In an emotional speech, Maxie expressed her gratitude and pride in achieving her long-awaited dream. “Thank you kasi sa wakas nagkaroon na ako ng korona. Sa wakas, nakita na, na deserve ko talaga ‘yung crown,” she said. She also shared her journey from joining contests as a child, experiencing wins and losses, and encouraged others to never give up on their dreams.
Maxie dedicated her victory to her family and promised to help other drag queens in the Philippines. “Tutulungan ko kayo. Pangako ‘yan dahil ang entablado ay para sa ating lahat,” she vowed, emphasizing her commitment to supporting the next generation of drag performers.
As the Season 3 winner, Maxie took home a P1,000,000 cash prize, a year’s supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and the coveted ‘Drag Race Philippines’ crown and scepter. Additionally, Versex was named Miss Congeniality, winning P40,000 in cash.
Maxie, also known as Jayvhot Galang, first rose to fame for her singing abilities on a noontime show and later took on the lead role in the musical adaptation of ‘Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros.’ She had also competed in ‘Queen of the Universe’ but exited before the finale. Throughout the season, Maxie impressed both the judges and her fellow competitors, never landing in the bottom two and winning a variety of challenges, including girl group, improv, and makeover competitions.
Maxie’s win continues the legacy of Precious Paula Nicole and Captivating Katkat, previous winners of ‘Drag Race Philippines.’ The show, part of the global ‘Drag Race’ franchise, highlights the extraordinary talents of Filipino drag queens and celebrates the country’s thriving drag scene.
