Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera surprised her fans with a candid admission during her contract renewal event with Home Credit.
Now on her second year as the brand’s ambassador, Rivera revealed she doesn’t just endorse the financial company but also personally uses its services.
Rivera, who signed on for another two years as Home Credit’s face, shared why she chose to apply for credit despite being financially capable. “Sabi ko naman, hindi ko ieendorso kung ‘di ko nasubukan talaga,” she explained during the event. “Eh, bakit naman hindi? Why not? Paano naman ‘yung mga mahal ko sa buhay? Paano nila malalaman na puwedeng gamitin ito kung ‘di ko sasabihin at hindi ko susubukan?”
Rivera admitted to using Home Credit’s credit services to purchase an iPad and phone for her daughter Zia, along with various essentials for her household staff. “Kung sarili ko lang ang iniisip ko, hindi ko ieendorso si Home Credit. Pero bilang marami akong mahal sa buhay at ine-extend ko ‘yan sa inyo, gagawin ko ‘yan dahil ang tiwala ko sa Home Credit ay 100%,” she said, emphasizing how the brand’s services have proven helpful for her family and household needs.

Home Credit’s Chief Marketing Officer Sheila Paul, who was present at the event, lauded Rivera’s commitment and practical approach. The brand executive explained that while Home Credit doesn’t provide credit for high-end luxury purchases, it does offer a progressive loan structure. Starting small, customers with good repayment history can gradually increase their credit limit.
Rivera left her audience with a valuable tip for responsible borrowing by setting priorities and always paying on time to avoid debt.
With over 11 million customers in the Philippines, Home Credit has become a trusted financial partner for Filipinos, offering low to zero-interest installment options on a range of goods, from gadgets to essential items. In its 11th year, the company continues its mission to make financial services accessible nationwide.
