Actress Liza Soberano recently revealed the reasons behind her departure from Careless Music, the agency led by James Reid, where she was managed for a time.
In an interview with Preview Magazine, Soberano expressed gratitude for her time with the label, which she credits with helping her discover her “voice” as a woman in the entertainment industry.
While she acknowledged the significant growth she experienced as an artist and entrepreneur through her collaboration with Careless, Soberano also explained that her primary goal was to establish her own team and focus on pursuing international opportunities. “Careless’ focus has always been on music. The goal was always to build my own team and gradually shift to more international opportunities,” she said.
The actress emphasized that her decision to leave the agency was driven by her desire to explore Hollywood, and she remains focused on carving out a name for herself abroad.
Although she admitted that navigating this path can be challenging, she finds the journey empowering. “It can be a lot of work managing all of that, but it’s honestly very liberating knowing that I’m capable of all of it,” Soberano shared.

Despite facing offers to portray Filipino characters with stereotypical arcs, Liza is being patient in waiting for the right project. Her U.S. representatives have encouraged her to hold out for roles that align with her career goals and showcase her versatility as an actress.
