At Landers’ Meat & Mingle event on October 22, 2024, held at Landers Arca South, actress and host Karel Marquez opened up about her fifth pregnancy.
While she had already announced the exciting news on social media, the media took the opportunity to ask her more about it during the intimate gathering.
Proudly showing off her baby bump, Karel revealed that she is in her second trimester, around three and a half months along. She candidly shared how the pregnancy came as a surprise to both her and her husband, Sean Fariñas. “To be honest, my husband and I were really shocked because it wasn’t planned at all. We were happy with four. Four is a lot already,” Karel explained.
She added that although they hadn’t planned for a fifth child, they see it as a blessing. “I’m so excited to be a mom of five.”

Karel also spoke about how she and Sean first shared the news with their parents, noting that they had experienced back-to-back miscarriages in the past, making this pregnancy even more precious. She reflected on how the unexpected pregnancy took time to sink in for both of them, but ultimately, they are thrilled to be expanding their family.
Karel, who first announced her pregnancy on Instagram during a babymoon in Hong Kong, shared a series of photos captioned, “Just when we thought ‘4’ completed our family… Here’s another blessing to our growing family, my baby #5!” The post was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations from fans and celebrity friends, including Bubbles Paraiso and Barbie Imperial.

Karel and Sean, who have been together since 2012 and married in 2016, are parents to Keiley, Kyler, Kobe, and Kaden. Karel’s two eldest children are from her previous relationship with Arman de Guzman, and she often credits Sean for being a loving and supportive father figure to all their kids.
The Meat & Mingle event itself, part of Landers’ Meat Fest, featured a variety of premium dishes prepared by chefs Arvic Tan and Thirdy Ijiran, using meats from Bounty Fresh and the US Meat Federation. The Meat Fest, which runs from October 22 to November 5, offers Landers members exclusive deals, including discounts of up to 50% and Buy 1 Get 1 offers on local and international meat products.
Landers is also hosting Meat Sampling Treats across its stores, allowing members to try various cuts of meat and explore new cooking ideas.
