Rumors are circulating on social media that ‘It’s Showtime’ host Ion Perez may be withdrawing from his candidacy for councilor in Concepcion, Tarlac.
The speculation arose after Perez posted a cryptic message, which has since been deleted, leading fans and followers to question his political plans.
In the latest episode of ‘Showbiz Update’ by Ogie Diaz, streamed on October 21, Diaz, along with co-hosts Mama Loi and Mrena, discussed Perez’s post.
The now-deleted post read, “Salamat sa sign, Lord. Alam ko mas makakabuti itong desisyon ko para sa sarili ko,” which sparked conversations online about whether Perez is stepping away from the election race.
Mama Loi shared her insights on the matter, saying, “So ‘yong iba tinatanong, aatras ka na ba sa kandidatura mo? E, ‘di ba naibalita mo, Nay, na feeling mo may aatras?”

Ogie Diaz noted that the tone of the post and the use of a black background hinted at the possibility that Perez may indeed be reconsidering his candidacy. “So ‘yong iba tinatanong, aatras ka na ba sa kandidatura mo? E, ‘di ba naibalita mo, Nay, na feeling mo may aatras? Kasi kung makakabuti itong desisyon ko para sa sarili ko, dapat hindi black ‘yong background,” Diaz speculated.
Despite the growing rumors, Ion Perez has not yet issued any official statement or clarification regarding the matter.
Perez officially filed his Certificate of Candidacy on October 1, marking his intention to run for councilor in his hometown of Concepcion, Tarlac. However, with no confirmation from Perez or his camp, the rumors remain unverified.
LionhearTV remains open to any statements or clarifications from Perez regarding his candidacy and the circulating rumors.
