Kapuso star Heart Evangelista opened up about her strained relationship with her former glam team during the press conference for her upcoming reality series ‘Heart World.’
The series, set to premiere on October 26, 2024, on GMA Network, offers a personal glimpse into Evangelista’s life, including her travels, behind-the-scenes moments from Fashion Week, and her relationship with her husband, Senate President Chiz Escudero.
During the press event, held at The Westin Manila in Ortigas on October 22, Evangelista addressed questions regarding her fashion journey and her emotional reaction in the show’s teaser. Without revealing specific details, Evangelista referred to a falling-out with Justin Soriano and Jeck Aguilar, her glam team of almost four years who had worked closely with her during the pandemic lockdowns.
“I cannot pinpoint what exact crime was committed, you know, because I let it happen. It was still me who decided it,” Evangelista said when asked about the fallout, adding that her priority was protecting her family. “Masira na buhay ko, huwag lang masira pamilya ko,” she emphasized.
While Evangelista did not provide further details on the conflict, she warned about trusting the wrong people, describing some as “emotional terrorists” who could cause significant harm.
“You have to truly be careful who you trust and who you freely give your heart away. Because sometimes, may mga papasok na rin na mga emotional terrorists that are there to kill and destroy your life,” she explained.
Her comments appeared to be directed at her former glam team, who now work with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. Evangelista expressed hope that Wurtzbach would not experience the same fallout, saying, “Sana, sana hindi mangyari sa iyo yung nangyari sa akin.”
Speculations about the reason behind the split surfaced in mid-2023, with rumors suggesting that it was related to the misuse of Heart’s credit card. In July 2023, Evangelista posted a TikTok video hinting at financial troubles. However, Justin denied any involvement in the issue, responding on Instagram, “Dear, she’s the only one maxing out her credit card. We don’t care about her credit card.”
Another rumor centered on alleged “contacts and connections” being stolen, which Justin also refuted. He mentioned that while they have a wide network through Pia’s husband, Jeremy Jauncey, they are not the type to “use” people or “take advantage” of connections.
