Veteran actress Eula Valdez has expressed her admiration for young actor Euwenn Mikaell, lauding his exceptional talent and professionalism at such a young age.
During a press conference for their latest GMA Afternoon Prime series, ‘Forever Young,’ Eula shared how impressed she was by Euwenn’s maturity and focus on set.
Eula revealed that she first noticed Euwenn when he appeared on Fast Talk. “Napanood ko siya sa ‘Fast Talk’ and from there, napansin ko na hindi siya pangkaraniwang bata,” she said, explaining that while many young performers might give brief, simple responses, Euwenn displayed depth and thoughtfulness in his answers.
“Nag-wish ako na sana makatrabaho ko itong batang ito. Tapos, heto nga, may offer na makatrabaho ko siya, at tuwang-tuwa ako na makaeksena siya.”
Despite his youth, Euwenn’s dedication to his role stood out to Eula, particularly during emotional scenes. “Nandoon pa rin ang pagkabata niya, na minsan makulit pa rin. Pero, katulad kagabi, medyo madrama ang eksena, nakita ko siya, nagmu-motivate talaga siya,” she said. “Si Euwenn talaga, pinanganak siya para mag-artista. May mga times na naglalaro siya, pero talagang makikita mo na focus talaga siya sa trabaho niya.”
In ‘Forever Young,’ Eula and Euwenn play opposing roles, with Eula as the show’s antagonist. Fortunately, Eula is relieved that none of her scenes required her to physically harm Euwenn’s character. “Hindi talaga siya pangkaraniwang bata. Hindi nga siya bata!,” she noted.
“Thankful naman ako na wala talaga. At kahit naman noon, hindi talaga ako pumapayag na manakit ng bata,” she added.
‘Forever Young’ airs from Monday to Friday at 4:00 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime, and Eula’s glowing remarks about Euwenn have heightened anticipation for their on-screen chemistry.
