TV5’s noontime show “EAT…Bulaga” appears to be capitalizing on the recent dip in ratings of its rival “It’s Showtime”, as it continues to narrow the gap between the two shows.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, “EAT…Bulaga” has been maintaining a competitive margin against “It’s Showtime”, likely due to the ongoing absence of lead host Vice Ganda, who is currently on a US concert tour.
On Monday, September 30, “EAT…Bulaga” recorded a 3.9 percent rating, placing 15th on the overall leaderboard, while “It’s Showtime” ranked 10th with a 6.9 percent rating.
The following day, Tuesday, October 1, “EAT…Bulaga” saw a slight improvement with a 4.0 percent rating, moving up to 14th place. Meanwhile, “It’s Showtime” dropped one spot to 11th with a decreased rating of 6.3 percent.
By Wednesday, October 2, the TVJ-led noontime show maintained its 4.0 percent rating and held onto 14th place, while “It’s Showtime” bounced back with a 7.1 percent rating, reclaiming the 10th spot.
On Thursday, October 3, “EAT…Bulaga” continued to rise, reaching a 4.2 percent rating while staying in 14th place. “It’s Showtime” held steady at 7.1 percent and remained in 10th position.
However, on Friday, October 4, “EAT…Bulaga” saw a slight decline to 3.8 percent, dropping back to 15th place. “It’s Showtime” also experienced a 0.1 percent drop to 7.0 percent but moved up to 9th place on the leaderboard.
With “It’s Showtime” gearing up for its 15th anniversary “Magpasikat” week, the question remains: can “EAT…Bulaga” maintain its close ratings competition, or will “It’s Showtime” regain a wider lead?
