Visayan singer and cosplayer Debbie Lopez is stepping into the spotlight with the release of her latest single, ‘Ang Higugmaon Ka,’ a heartfelt love song composed by Cebuano songwriter Bryan Arias Balucan.
The title, which translates to ‘Mamahalin Ka’ in Tagalog, highlights Debbie’s vocal prowess and emotional depth.
During her launch event at Mellow D in Quezon City last September 28, Debbie gave a powerful live performance, captivating the audience with her voice.
Originally from the Visayas and now based in Baguio, Debbie has been passionate about music from a young age. Her musical journey began at the age of four, during a family trip to Jamaica. Influenced by her family, particularly her uncle, Dr. Noni Espina—an internationally recognized musician—Debbie pursued her love for singing, which has become a defining part of her career.
Aside from her musical talents, Debbie is also known for her work in the cosplay community, where she has portrayed iconic characters such as Crystal Maiden, Kotori, and Scarlet Witch.
Now, she adds a new role to her portfolio as the host of ‘Radyo Kantahan’ on Radyo Aguila. The show airs every Sunday from 12 noon to 2 pm, where Debbie interviews various musical talents and provides a platform for rising artists.
When asked about her family’s reaction to her growing success, Debbie shared, “Proud sila, as in super. Hindi nila inakala na dadating ako sa ganito.”
