Singer and artist Darren Espanto shared his thoughts on how hosting the noontime variety show ‘It’s Showtime’ has transformed his career during a recent press conference.
The 22-year-old artist expressed his excitement and gratitude for being part of a show he has admired since childhood.
“Nine years old pa lang ako nung nanonood na ako ng Showtime, 15 years ago. To be [a] host now has really changed the trajectory of my career din po as well kasi nagsimula ako as a guest ‘tapos, naging hurado, naging host. Parang naging parte na rin po ako ng Showtime family throughout the years. Parang lumaki na rin ako rito sa It’s Showtime,” Darren stated. He recounted his journey from guest performer to judge and now a permanent host, noting the sense of belonging he feels within the Showtime family. “It’s really a great way also to reach a wider audience po. That’s how it changed my career,” he added.
In a heartfelt video message shared by ‘It’s Showtime,’ Darren thanked the audience for their support over the past 15 years and expressed his enthusiasm for the future. “I just want to thank all of you for being with us for 15 years,” he said.
Darren was officially introduced as one of the hosts during a contract signing between ABS-CBN and GMA Network on March 20, 2024. He will be performing alongside co-hosts Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, and Ion Perez in the highly anticipated ‘Magpasikat 2024’ segment, set to run from October 21 to 25.
‘It’s Showtime’ airs from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon on GMA Network, GTV, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, AllTV and other platforms, continuing to engage audiences with its lively performances and variety of segments .
