Veteran showbiz commentator and ‘Cristy Ferminute’ host Cristy Fermin recently shared her experience of paying bail for five libel cases filed against her by actress Sharon Cuneta and her husband, former Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
On October 28, Cristy was notably absent from her radio show on 92.3 True FM as she dealt with court matters in Makati City. The libel charges, filed last May, resulted in a warrant for her arrest. Choosing to voluntarily surrender, Cristy immediately processed her bail, amounting to a total of PHP 240,000 for the five counts.
In a follow-up episode of her show with Romel Chika, Cristy shared the details of her experience, particularly calling out scammers who posed as National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents, attempting to take advantage of her legal situation. Displaying her release document on camera, she warned, “Huwag n’yo na po akong ibilang sa lolokohin n’yo.”
Cristy described her day, beginning at 8 a.m. and concluding around 2:30 p.m., as filled with paperwork and legal processes. “Sa bawat counts, ganoon kakapal ang pinirmahan ng aking abogado,” she shared, expressing gratitude for her legal team led by Atty. Shirley Tabancura.
The case is being handled by Judge Andres Bartolome Soriano of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148, known for his rulings on high-profile cases. Cristy thanked the staff at Makati City Hall, noting how they recognized her from her show.
“Maraming salamat sa inyong pangungumusta, sa pagtapik sa aking balikat, at sa pagsama ninyo na ‘lalaban tayo,’” she added, expressing gratitude to her supporters and her loyal CFM and SNN (Showbiz Now Na) followers who continue to back her through this ordeal.
