Carmina Villaroel has broken her silence on whether she is open to working with actress Kyline Alcantara, following rumors of a rift between them.
In a recent interview shared on the Jayco Talks Facebook page, Villaroel was asked if she had previously worked with Alcantara.
“Magkakilala naman kami. Of course, we’ve worked together,” Carmina confirmed. However, she was quick to add that she preferred not to elaborate, concerned her comments might be misconstrued.
She explained, “Ayoko na magsalita kasi mamasamain na naman ng iba kahit na sabihin mong, ‘I wish her well’. Kahit may sabihin akong maganda, sasabihin nila ‘plastic.’ So, better not to say anything na lang.”
When pressed if she would be willing to work with Alcantara again, Villaroel gave a succinct answer: “Why not?”
This statement comes after online speculation that Carmina’s alleged disapproval of Kyline was a factor in the rumored breakup between her son, Mavy Legaspi, and the actress.
The speculation led some netizens to label Villaroel a “stage mother” interfering in her son’s personal life, though Carmina has remained diplomatic in her responses, keeping her comments brief and professional.
