Piolo Pascual has expressed his strong interest in a potential reunion project with Judy Ann Santos, revealing his enthusiasm during a press conference held on September 1 at Royal Indian Curry House in Tomas Morato.
The event, organized by Dreamscape Entertainment, was intended to promote Pascual’s current series, ‘Pamilya Sagrado,’ alongside co-stars Kyle Echarri and Grae Fernandez.
Pascual, who last collaborated with Santos on the 2006 film ‘Don’t Give Up on Us’ and the teleserye ‘Sa Piling Mo,’ indicated that he would eagerly jump at the chance to work with her again.
“I’ll drop everything for her. I mean, wow! I owe her so much. I miss working with her. Given a chance, anytime, in a heartbeat,” Pascual stated, underscoring his desire for a reunion.
Despite Santos’s busy personal life as a mother of three and her ongoing marriage to Ryan Agoncillo, fans continue to hope for a revival of the beloved on-screen partnership.
Pascual shared his thoughts on the type of project he envisions for their reunion, suggesting a shift from romantic comedies to more dramatic genres. “Ang gusto ko sana parang ‘Tagos Ng Dugo’ (ni Vilma Santos), parang yung ganu’n, mga crime, thriller-suspense, psychological drama. Para hindi na romcom,” he explained.
When questioned about the delay in their reunion project, Pascual humorously redirected the inquiry to Santos, saying, “Not me, ask her. (Guffaws). Ako, I’m always open.”
In the meantime, Pascual is focused on the upcoming changes for ‘Pamilya Sagrado,’ which will begin airing in a new timeslot on September 2 at 9:30 p.m., following ‘Lavender Fields.’ The series will be broadcast on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5, and will also be available on iWantTFC and TFC. Directed by Lawrence Fajardo, Andoy Ranay, and Rico Navarro, with special guest director Coco Martin, the series is anticipated to offer fresh and engaging content for its viewers.
