Veteran actress Pinky Amador, known for her sharp-tongued portrayal of the antagonist Morgana Go in the hit afternoon drama ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap,’ has captured the attention of netizens after delivering the now-viral line, “shiminet.”
In a recent episode, Morgana sent a dragon dance troupe to a funeral, prompting confusion and questions from Lyneth (played by Carmina Villarroel) and Analyn (Jillian Ward). Morgana justified her decision, claiming that in Chinese feng shui, a dragon dance helps guide the soul of the deceased to heaven.
However, a Chinese bystander challenged Morgana’s claim, saying that the dragon dance is traditionally performed to welcome the Lunar New Year, not for funerals. To further prove her point, the bystander spoke in Mandarin.
As tensions rose, Morgana was asked to provide a clearer explanation for her unusual funeral gesture. Her response? The now-famous line, “Shiminet like my answer, shiminet like the way I answer, shiminet like the content of my answer, but I’m answering anyway.”

The term “shiminet,” which humorously mimics “she may not” when spoken quickly, soon went viral, sparking a wave of memes and online reactions. Social media users were quick to connect the phrase to a similar comment made by Vice President Sara Duterte during a congressional inquiry.
In a previous hearing, when questioned by Gabriela Party-list Representative Arlene Brosas about confidential funds, Duterte said, “She may not like my answer. She may not like how I answer. She may not like the content of my answer, but I am answering.” The phrase was soon transformed into the meme-worthy “shiminet.”
The playful term has since gained traction, with celebrities like Vice Ganda and Bela Padilla referencing it on It’s Showtime, while other personalities like Rhian Ramos and Saab Magalona have also joined in the fun through their social media posts.
This isn’t the first time ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’ has leaned into trending pop culture moments. The show also parodied a statement from dismissed Bamban, Tarlac City mayor Alice Guo, who once claimed during a Senate hearing that she couldn’t recall her childhood as she grew up on a farm.
Amador’s “shiminet” line has further solidified her character Morgana as a key talking point in the series, drawing both praise and amusement from fans.
