Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach has addressed the controversy surrounding her alleged fake attendance at the Carolina Herrera show during New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
The issue began when Pia posted a video of the Carolina Herrera runway show on her Instagram with the caption, “Color play at the @carolinaherrera runway.” However, observant netizens quickly pointed out that the footage was not her own but was taken from Style Not Com’s social media post. This led to accusations that she had not attended the event and was attempting to mislead her followers.
A netizen even provided evidence by sharing the original video that Pia had reposted, prompting another to comment on Style Not Com’s post, questioning if Pia had asked for permission to re-upload the video. Speculation grew, with some online users accusing the beauty queen of faking her presence at the show and labeling her “desperate.”
One post circulating online read, “Pia Wurtzbach was caught pretending she was invited to Carolina Herrera’s NYFW show. (She initially stole and posted an insider video to fake her presence.).”
In response, Pia released a statement on Instagram, explaining that she had indeed missed the Carolina Herrera show due to heavy traffic in New York. She acknowledged the mistake of reposting the video without credit and has since edited her post to properly attribute the footage to @stylenotcom.
To clarify the situation further, Pia shared her official invitation to the Carolina Herrera show and posted several photos of her time in New York. She expressed her disappointment at missing the event but emphasized her genuine excitement for the show and her participation in New York Fashion Week.
“Snaps from here and there. I really missed #NewYork since watching my first runway show here, so it was amazing to be back. It felt great to create looks with my team again and reconnect and work with familiar faces… hello @marquis.bias! Stay tuned,” Pia wrote.

She went on to explain, “The city’s bustling energy and vibrant atmosphere were just as thrilling as ever, even if the traffic did make me late for a few shows. Felt so bad to have missed the Carolina Herrera show by a few minutes. Decided to shoot the looks they sent and repost the curtain call to make it up to them. Expect more CH content coming through!”
Pia also shared her outfit of the day (OOTD) and behind-the-scenes moments from her trip to the event. Despite missing the show, she assured her followers that more content related to Carolina Herrera would follow.
