After years of anticipation, the anime adaptation of the award-winning manga series Murai In Love debuts today, September 4, exclusively on Disney+.
Set in modern-day Japan, this laugh out loud series tells the story of a high school sophomore and his increasingly audacious attempts to win his homeroom teacher’s heart. Realizing his teacher is in love with a popular video game character, Murai will attempt to woo her by emulating the character’s appearance and mannerisms, leading to hilarious results.
Starring Kengo Takanashi (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Kamen Rider Amazons) as the voice of Murai, a high school sophomore who’s in love with his teacher; Yoko Hikasa (Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou, Kingdom) as the voice of Ayano Tanaka, a high school homeroom teacher who’s in love with a video game character; and Nobunaga Shimazaki (Jujutsu Kaisen, Free!) as the voice of Hitotose, the popular video game character, Murai In Love is written by Junta Shima and directed by Yoshinobu Yamakawa (Hells, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?).
Fans of Japanese anime can sign up to Disney+ today to enjoy immediate access to a wealth of unmissable titles including The Fable, about an accomplished assassin who is forced to lay low for a year, and Go! Go! Loser Ranger!, about an ongoing war between an invading Monster Army and the hugely popular Divine Dragon Rangers.
