Kapuso actor Ken Chan is reportedly liquidating his assets to manage his financial troubles, following a series of legal and financial challenges.
Recent reports reveal that Chan is dealing with significant debt and legal complications, including an arrest warrant issued against him. This news was initially shared by Ogie Diaz on the vlog ‘Showbiz Update,’ with hosts Mama Loi and Dyosa Pockoh.
The arrest warrant stems from a syndicated estafa case involving Chan and his co-incorporators in their business venture. Documents presented on the vlog suggest that Chan is accused of defrauding investors.
In an update, Diaz reported that Chan is actively selling properties, including a plot of land in Tagaytay City, in an effort to resolve his financial issues. “Mayroon akong nakausap, talagang pilit siyang nagbebenta ng properties niya. Kumbaga nakakakita pa rin ng silver linings,” Diaz stated.
When questioned whether the sale of properties was aimed at addressing the legal issues, Diaz confirmed, “I think so! Kasi ‘yung isa binebentahan niya ng lote niya doon sa Tagaytay. Siguro ito ay para makabawas-bawas sa mga utang.”
It has been reported that one of Chan’s business partners, who is also said to be his romantic interest, might be responsible for misappropriating a significant portion of the investments. This has reportedly exacerbated Chan’s financial difficulties.
Diaz mentioned that Chan’s creditors had previously extended deadlines, but legal action became necessary due to ongoing delays. “Kung ako kay Ken haharapin ko ito. Kung may mga kaibigan siyang puwede siyang pagkatiwalaan ulit ay puwede siyang manghiram para lang mawala na ‘yung mga demanda. At puwede ulit siyang magsumikap sa buhay hanggang maibangon niya ‘yung kanyang sarili,” Diaz advised.
Despite the unfolding drama, Ken Chan has continued to post positive updates on social media, possibly to reassure his fans that he is coping well. Diaz suggested that these posts might be intended to maintain a facade of normalcy.
Chan has always kept details of his personal life private, including his relationships. There are suggestions that his involvement with a business partner could be linked to his current financial problems.
