Rising star Geraldine Jennings is stepping into the spotlight as a leading lady in her debut film ‘Isla Babuyan,’ where she stars opposite Kapamilya actor Jameson Blake.
The film also features an ensemble cast including Paolo Gumabao, Dave Bornea, Lotlot de Leon, and James Blanco. Directed by Abdel Langit and written by Jessie Vilabrille, ‘Isla Babuyan’ is produced by Solid Gold Entertainment Production and LVD Talent Management.
The film marks a significant milestone for Geraldine, who shared her excitement and challenges during the press conference.
“May mga eksena na parang dramatic. Initially, nahirapan ako sa dramatic scenes. Si Miss Lotlot de Leon ang co-actress ko and na-feel ko yung emotions niya so parang na-feel ko rin. After two days, three days, sanay na ako. Mas natural na ang acting ko,” Geraldine said.
She also credited her extensive acting workshops, both in West Hollywood and with local coach Jo Macasa, for preparing her for the role.
The movie’s plot revolves around the mysteries and adventures on the remote island of Babuyan, and Geraldine’s character plays a pivotal role. Working alongside Jameson Blake, Geraldine noted how professional and talented he was during their scenes, including a memorable kissing scene.
She humorously added, “And mabango po siya.”
‘Isla Babuyan’ is a highly anticipated film, especially as it features Geraldine’s debut as a lead actress. The movie is expected to showcase her versatility and passion for acting, marking her official entry into the world of Philippine cinema.
