Philippine art’s titans and up-and-coming artists are coming together for one of the most anticipated art events of the year—the Gateway Art Fair!
The event, which is set for a spectacular return this September 26 to 29 at the Quantum Skyview of the New Gateway Mall 2 in Araneta City, promises to be the largest iteration of the Gateway Art Fair yet!
The third edition of the fair will feature 30 exhibitors and over 1,000 artworks, highlighting the rich artistry of Filipinos from all over the country. Organized by the Gateway Gallery under the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), this year’s Gateway Art Fair, with the theme “Live Your Art,” invites both seasoned collectors and new enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the talent and perspectives of Filipino artists.
“Art lovers everywhere will surely be delighted by what’s in store at this year’s Gateway Art Fair,” Diane Romero, JAAF Executive Director said. “With a thousand artworks and 30 exhibitors participating in this Fair, we’re sure that whatever art piece you’re in search of, you’ll find it here.”
This year, the Gateway Art Fair will be a place to see not only some of the best and the brightest Filipino artists but will also showcase works and advocacies from various galleries and art collectives. Among those who would showcase their works is National Artist for Music, Ryan Cayabyab. Some of the most phenomenal female artists today, such as sculptor Jenny Cortes and watercolorist Pinky Peralta, will also be presenting at the fair. Another distinguished artist, Yannie Rumbaoa, renowned sculptor and long-time coin designer of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), will present a solo exhibit during the fair.
Regional diversity and artistry will also take center stage at the Gateway Art Fair, as groups like La Herencia Davao, Vice Versa Artist Group from Lucban, Quezon, and Good Days Art Gallery from Pagbilao, Quezon will also take part. Other notable participants include the art school Atelier de Legaspi, and the Quezon City-based youth performing group—the QC Performing Arts Development Foundation.
In addition to the main exhibits, the fair will host daily side events at the Ibis Styles Manila Araneta City from September 27 to 29, from 1 to 5 PM. Watch out for the final schedule of art events on Gateway Gallery’s social media pages.
Another unique feature of this year’s Gateway Art Fair is its commitment to empower artists through a zero-commission setup, ensuring that every artist receives the full proceeds from the sales of their works. This year, Gateway Art Fair partners with BPI through TicketNet to offer installment plans for buyers, making art more accessible to a broader audience.
Aside from celebrating Filipino art, Gateway Art Fair is an annual vehicle to support the public cultural programs of Gateway Gallery, the art museum of Araneta City.
“By attending this art event, our patrons are not just enjoying or purchasing beautiful pieces of art, but they are also contributing to meaningful cultural development efforts led by JAAF,” Romero explained.
