The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has dismissed the cyber libel case filed by actress Bea Alonzo against the wife of her former driver.
Alonzo had accused the woman of spreading false and damaging claims about her, including allegations that she failed to pay Social Security System (SSS) and PhilHealth contributions for her household staff.
The dismissal order, signed by Assistant City Prosecutor Virgel Amor Ordono Vallejos and recommending prosecutor Nerissa Rhona Zamora-Amoroso, cited insufficient evidence to support the claims made by Alonzo.
In May, Alonzo had also filed separate criminal cases for cyber libel against media personalities Cristy Fermin, Ogie Diaz, and their co-hosts, alleging they spread defamatory information about her. The actress claimed that these statements, which included allegations of improper tax payments and personal insults, were unfounded and damaging.
Atty. Joey Garcia, Alonzo’s legal counsel, had indicated that the complaints also involved Efren Delos Reyes Jr., the former driver, and an “online basher” pretending to be close to Alonzo.
