Comedy Queen Aiai Delas Alas recently opened up about her insightful instincts regarding her daughter Sophia’s past boyfriend, reaffirming the saying “Mother knows best.”
In a conversation with select members of the entertainment media, Aiai shared her thoughts on parental intuition, especially when it comes to relationships. She drew parallels with the ongoing controversy involving Filipino champion Carlos Yulo and his mother, expressing her understanding as a fellow mom.
Aiai voiced her support for Angelica Yulo while advising content creator Chloe San Jose to maintain harmony with her boyfriend’s family. However, she acknowledged that there are limits to parental involvement in their children’s love lives.

Reflecting on her own experiences, Aiai recounted a humorous exchange with Sophia regarding a former boyfriend. Parang medyo malambot,’” she recalled. After six months, wala na sila. Bakit? May dyowa! Sabi ko, ‘Confirmed!’ Mothers know best!”
She also noted that while Sophia may have been aware of issues in the relationship, love often clouds judgment. “Alam niya, nagtatanga-tangahan lang. Siyempre, kapag in love, nagtatanga-tangahan ka,” Ai Ai observed.
On a professional note, Aiai has returned to the Philippines from the U.S. for the revival of ‘The Clash,’ where she will serve as a member of the Clash Panel. The show airs every Saturday at 7:15 p.m. on GMA Network, hosted by Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz.
