Prepare for the perfect getaway in “Blink Twice,” the feature directorial debut of Zoë Kravitz, starring Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie.
“I’m a huge fan of the psychological thriller, horror genre,” says the first-time director, known for her roles in popular movies such as “X-Men: First Class” and the “Fantastic Beasts” films, and the Emmy-winning TV series “Big Little Lies.” “You have to try to find out what’s going on.”
In “Blink Twice,” sparks fly when tech billionaire Slater King (Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Ackie) at his fundraising gala. He then invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. But as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. She’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.
“Zoë Kravitz is insanely smart,” says Tatum. “She leads from a place that isn’t just all heart, and it’s not all just brain. It’s something else – and that’s what the movie really feels like.”
