A researcher from the TV5 show ‘Budol Alert,’ hosted by Luchi Cruz Valdes, has come forward with allegations of sexual assault against the program’s manager.
The researcher sought help from Raffy Tulfo through his show ‘Wanted sa Radyo,’ which airs on One News, a sister network of TV5.
According to the researcher, the incident occurred on July 23 after a night out at a bar, where he became heavily intoxicated.
Despite his efforts to resist, the program manager allegedly assaulted him in a hotel in Pasig City. During the broadcast, Raffy Tulfo identified the accused manager as Cliff Gingco.
Tulfo expressed outrage over the situation, criticizing the fact that Gingco remains employed by TV5. He also mentioned that Luchi Cruz Valdes had reportedly advised the researcher to stay silent about the incident.
Tulfo threatened that if no action was taken against the accused, TV5 might face consequences, expressing frustration that two weeks had passed without any apparent resolution.
This incident has gained significant attention, particularly in the wake of a recent Senate hearing involving Sandro Muhlach, who was summoned by Senator Robin Padilla on a similar issue.
In response, TV5 issued a statement acknowledging the situation: “TV5 management is aware of the matter regarding an alleged incident between a TV5 employee and an independent contractor. We have issued the necessary Notice to Explain and are currently conducting an investigation to establish the facts and determine the appropriate course of action. We are in contact with the individuals involved and are gathering information. We assure all parties that their rights and welfare will be safeguarded.”
The network emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and urged the public to withhold judgment until the investigation is completed.
