K-Pop fans were elated when superstars 2NE1 announced their reunion to celebrate their 15th anniversary. Sandara Park, popularly known as Dara, expressed her hope that the group’s tour will include a stop in Manila.
Dara shared her excitement during the ‘Aim Limitless’ concert organized by Acer Philippines at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Sunday, August 4.
“Hindi ko alam kung aware kayong lahat, pero meron akong good news sa buhay ko at sa buhay ng lahat na fans ko. You know I’m really thankful and blessed that one of my greatest [wishes] came true–2NE1 is back!” Dara announced, prompting an eruption of cheers from the audience.
Overwhelmed by the crowd’s response, she quipped, “Grabe talaga, parang gusto kong uminom.”
Dara then expressed her desire for a Manila stop on the reunion tour. “Dapat meron ding Manila stop ‘di ba? Hindi pwedeng walang Manila stop sa 2NE1 tour. At sana dito ulit kami mag-concert sa at MOA Arena just like before. Let’s pray for that,” she said, sparking even louder cheers and chants of “2NE1!” from the enthusiastic audience.
2NE1 previously performed at the Mall of Asia Arena during their ‘All or Nothing’ tour in 2014.
During the concert, Dara delighted the audience with performances of some of 2NE1’s biggest hits, including ‘I Don’t Care’ and ‘I’m the Best,’ as well as ‘Can’t Nobody.’ She also performed her solo song ‘Dara Dara,’ showcasing her dance moves with a large group of backup dancers.
Dara also shared the stage with P-Pop stars SB19 and G22, along with performances from Ebe Dancel, Cup of Joe, TJ Monterde, and Rico Blanco, making the event a star-studded affair.
