Host and singer Ogie Alcasid recently opened up about feeling hurt when his daughter, Leila Alcasid, moved out of their family home without consulting him.
The emotional revelation occurred during the former segment ‘EXpecially For You’ on ‘It’s Showtime,’ where the topic centered around the feelings of parents when their children decide to live independently.
Ogie, who shares Leila with his ex-wife, Australian beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren, recounted how he was taken aback by his daughter’s decision to live with her boyfriend, rapper Mito Fabie, also known as Curtismith, without informing him first.
He acknowledged his disappointment but ultimately accepted that his daughter and her partner were making adult decisions.
Ogie also spoke about the challenges parents face as their children grow older, emphasizing that, despite everything, parents will always stand by their kids.
Leila and Curtismith have been in a relationship since 2019, celebrating their first anniversary in September 2020. While Leila has not publicly discussed their living arrangement, Ogie shared his initial reservations about the situation. He admitted that he wasn’t consulted about their decision to move in together, but he was proud of the maturity with which the couple handled it.
Ogie also noted that Leila did not seek financial support from him when she and Curtismith decided to live together during the pandemic.
Despite his initial feelings, Ogie respected Leila’s decision and continues to support her, demonstrating the unconditional love and understanding that comes with being a father.
