Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino are set to headline the upcoming romantic comedy film ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear,’ directed by Chad Vidanes.
The film marks the first big-screen collaboration between the two popular actors, who have previously garnered praise for their on-screen chemistry in other projects.
The announcement was made during the August 12 episode of It’s Showtime, where Chiu and Avelino appeared alongside Vidanes to share the news. Vidanes described the movie as a “classic rom-com” that explores how the “magic of love” can lead to unpredictable and exciting situations.
The concept was developed by Prime Cruz, with the screenplay penned by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio.
“Siyempre, namiss natin ‘yung pelikulang rom-com mula sa Star Cinema. Pre-pandemic pa ata noong huling nagkaroon tayo ng true-blue rom-com from Star Cinema,” Vidanes said. “Itong concept na ‘to [ay ginawa ni] Prime Cruz and to be written by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio. Very interesting siya sa akin. Classic siya, classic rom-com, very bago.”
Star Cinema confirmed the project on social media, stating, “Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino officially announce their first movie together on ‘It’s Showtime!’ Star Cinema’s ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ directed by Chad Vidanes coming soon exclusively in cinemas.”
