Award-winning actor Mon Confiado has publicly denounced a content creator for fabricating a story that alleged he committed theft.
In a recent Facebook post, Confiado expressed his outrage over the false claims made by the creator, identified as Ileiad.
According to Confiado, Ileiad’s post falsely claimed that he had stolen 15 Milky Way Choco Bars from a grocery store and mistreated a cashier. The story included a fabricated account of Confiado’s alleged behavior, suggesting he had not paid for the items and had acted aggressively.
“ero hindi pa din inaalis ang post nya. Joke at my expense? Joke pero nakakasira ng tao? Bakit ka magjo joke sa’kin? Close ba tayo?,” Confiado wrote. He criticized the creator for using his reputation to gain attention, stating, “Parang sobra na itong mga ito ah at para makakuha lang ng mga likes kahit makasagasa sila ng tao. Tapos sasabihin Joke.”
Despite the creator’s subsequent attempt to add a disclaimer and remove the post, Confiado highlighted that the damage to his reputation had already been done. He noted that many friends and acquaintances had reached out to verify the truth of the story, causing unnecessary concern.
In a response to the accusations, Ileiad issued an apology, stating that the post was intended as a joke and acknowledging that it might have been misunderstood. However, Confiado rejected this explanation, emphasizing that the harm caused by the false narrative was significant and not easily dismissed.
Confiado also revealed that he is considering legal action against Ileiad, stating that the situation is more than just a joke and that he is exploring ways to hold the responsible party accountable. The content creator’s account has since been removed, but Confiado’s screenshots of their communication remain as evidence.
