Actress Jolina Magdangal is eagerly anticipating her return to the small screen with ABS-CBN’s upcoming drama series ‘Lavender Fields.’
In a recent interview with ABS-CBN News, Magdangal expressed her enthusiasm after viewing the trailer for the show, which highlights her role.
“Nakilig ako,” Magdangal said, reflecting on her reaction to the trailer. “Kapag nasa taping ka, hindi mo naman alam paano ang kakalabasan. Pero kapag napagsama-sama ang lahat, parang iba rin ‘yung excitement at fulfillment na ibibigay sa iyo.”
Magdangal, a fan of television series herself, shared her motivation for accepting the role. “Parang ngayon, anumang role ang maibigay sa iyo sa isang teleserye, dapat paniwalaan mo na parte ka nito at pagbutihan mo. … Kaya sabi ko I think it’s time,” she explained.
In ‘Lavender Fields,’ Magdangal plays Lily Atienza, the loyal best friend of Iris, portrayed by Janine Gutierrez. Magdangal described Lily’s character as deeply loyal due to the significant support Iris’s family provided to her own. “Ang utang na loob ay dapat tinatanaw,” she said, while also teasing Lily’s personal struggle with loyalty: “Pero ang dilemma ni Lily, hanggang saan ka pwede maging loyal?”
The actress also shared that her family, including her husband, musician Mark Escueta, and their two children, are thrilled about her acting return. “Sila ‘yung talagang kahit may pagod, sila ang nagpapalakas sa akin. … Very proud sila,” Magdangal noted.
‘Lavender Fields’ is slated for release on Netflix on August 30 and will debut on free TV on September 2.
