Following the formal complaint filed by young actor Sandro Muhlach, GMA Network independent contractors Jojo Tawasil Nones and Richard Dode Cruz have publicly addressed the allegations made against them.
Their legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, has requested the public to respect the ongoing investigation and refrain from spreading unfounded claims.
In a statement, Atty. Abraham-Garduque expressed the contractors’ sadness over the serious allegations circulating on social media.
“Our clients are deeply saddened by the serious allegations hurled against them circulating on social media,” she said. The counsel noted that the accusations do not accurately reflect the events and assured that a proper response will be provided once the formal complaint is reviewed.
“And though these allegations do not mirror the true accounts of the event, we would like to reserve the right to respond in a proper forum when we receive a copy of the formal complaint.”
Atty. Abraham-Garduque also urged the public to respect the investigation process and avoid posting defamatory content. “We urge the public to respect the investigation being conducted on this case and we advise people who have no personal knowledge of the incident to refrain from posting baseless defamatory allegations and therefore unfairly subjecting both parties to publicity trial,” she added.
Sandro Muhlach has yet to make a public statement regarding the matter, though he has shared GMA Network’s statement on his Instagram Stories. His father, former child star Niño Muhlach, has chosen not to comment until a formal case is filed, as advised by his legal team.
On August 1, GMA Network announced receiving a formal complaint from Sandro Muhlach against independent contractors Nones and Cruz. The network stated that, per Sandro’s request for confidentiality, details of the investigation will remain undisclosed until it concludes.
GMA Network had previously addressed a blind item about allegations involving its consultants following a recent gala event, which reportedly involved the alleged misconduct of the two consultants.
