DJ Kara of Energy FM Radio has publicly criticized Love Radio for an insensitive social media poll that included the late Lloyd Cadena as an option for the most dishonest former DJ.
The controversy erupted after Love Radio posted a poll asking listeners to vote on which former DJ was the most dishonest, listing Lloyd Cadena among the options. This inclusion sparked outrage from fans and colleagues who felt it was disrespectful to the memory of Cadena, who passed away in 2020.
DJ Kara took to Facebook to express her disapproval, stating, “Dear Love Radio, since I’m brutally honest and Lloyd cannot defend himself also, it’s my time to defend him. Wag po natin gamitin sa choices ang taong namayapa na. Ang insensitive po. Ginawa nyo pa kaming choices na suspects sa mga ‘hindi nagsasabi ng totoo’ at kasama pa si Lloyd sa choices? Ilan taon na po ang nakalipas, ngayon pa po kayo nag-content ng ganyan. Don’t create fire kase happy na po ang lahat. Just saying. Godbless and let’s be kind to everyone.”
In response to the backlash, Nicole Hyala, a DJ at Love Radio, issued an apology. She admitted not seeing the final edit of the post and expressed regret for the insensitivity. Hyala assured that she had requested the digital team to remove the post.
“Hello po. I received several messages regarding this. I honestly didn’t see the final edit and I truly apologize for this. I love Lloyd with all my heart and this has been truly insensitive. We should have been more prudent. I have asked our Digital Team to put the post down,” Hyala commented on the issue.
Despite the apology, many of Cadena’s fans and supporters of DJ Kara continued to express their disappointment, calling for greater sensitivity and respect in creating content, especially when it involves individuals who have passed away.
