Vivamax Queen Angeli Khang has candidly discussed the difficulties and instances of exploitation she has faced during the filming of intimate scenes.
In an interview on the online show ‘Toni Talks’ hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Angeli revealed the emotional and mental toll of performing such scenes.
Initially, Angeli believed that filming love scenes was straightforward, thinking that it was merely a matter of acting out intimate moments. “But right now na medyo nag-widen ‘yung understanding ko sa pag-a-acting and patagal nang patagal, du’n ko nare-realize na nakaka-drain talaga siya, nakaka-drain na maghubad ka,” Angeli shared. However, as she gained more experience, she realized the challenges involved. “Still, kahit may plaster, kahit na minsan, may double, ‘yung point of view pa lang na while doing it, kailangan, mentally prepared ka,” she added.
Angeli highlighted the importance of mutual comfort with co-stars, but acknowledged that the process can be stressful due to restrictions on physical contact. “And minsan, nai-stress ‘yung mga partners mo na kasi, ‘yung restrictions. Minsan, bawal hawakan sa dibdib or hanggang bewang lang, or dito (balikat) lang,” she explained.
When asked by Toni if she had ever felt taken advantage of, Angeli openly admitted, “Yes, a lot. Lalo na (sa) mga last movies ko.”
She described uncomfortable situations where her co-stars would become overly involved despite strict guidelines. “May times na habang naka-plaster, natanggal ‘yung plaster kasi tumitigas (ang pagkalalaki ng partner niya). Ta’s bago pa mag-take ‘yung direk, hinahalikan na ‘ko. After mag-take, hinahalikan pa rin ako,” she revealed. Angeli mentioned that she usually addresses these issues with the director afterward, saying, “Ako, nasa isip ko, ‘basta 1 take, go mo na.’ After nu’n, du’n na ‘ko magrereklamo kay direk. Sabi ko, ‘direk, nakita mo na ba na ganito, ganyan?’ Sabi niya, ‘oo nga, nakita ko’.”
Despite these challenges, Angeli remains focused on her work. “’Pag work, nasa isip ko talaga, work ‘to. While doing the scenes, maraming tao lagi kapag sexy scenes. Camera man, siguro two, three, may audio pa, ‘andiyan pa ‘yung direktor, kaya never po akong na-carried away,” she said.
