Known for her daring performances in Vivamax films, AJ Raval has announced that she will no longer take on sexy roles as she shifts her focus toward a different path in her career.
In an interview with Julius Babao on his vlog, AJ revealed that she has undergone a significant change in priorities and now aims to be a positive influence, particularly for younger audiences.
“Maraming nakilala sa akin bilang sexy star, ngayon, ang gusto kong i-promote sa sarili ko, is ‘yong change. Lahat ng tao kaya magbago,” AJ stated during the interview. She expressed that as she matures, she realizes the importance of setting a good example for the youth and using her platform for more meaningful purposes.
When asked if she could see herself returning to her previous roles, AJ was resolute. “No, ayaw ko na talaga,” she replied. AJ elaborated on her decision, explaining that while she appreciates the opportunities Vivamax provided her, she feels it’s essential to pursue goals that showcase her growth and potential beyond just being a sexy star. “Dapat may goal ka, ipakita mo sa mga tao na maayos ka, ‘yon bang hindi lang sexy ‘yong gagayahin nila sa ‘yo, ‘yong gagayahin nila sa ‘yo, paano ka, ‘yong improvement mo…,” she added.
AJ also shared that she wasn’t truly happy with her past work, despite her fame. Stepping away from those roles was not difficult for her, as she had long wanted to move in a different direction. She emphasized that her decision to shift focus was something her bosses at Viva understood and supported.
“I’m not against sa pagpapa-sexy, but, alam ko sa sarili ko na may magagawa pa akong mas maganda. Mas better,” AJ asserted, marking her departure from the genre that made her a household name.
In the same vlog, AJ and her partner, Aljur Abrenica, addressed ongoing rumors about having a child together, firmly denying the speculations.
Before becoming widely known as an actress, AJ was a member of the girl group The Fabulous Girlfriends at just 15 years old. She began her journey in the sexy film industry in 2021 with ‘Paglaki Ko Gusto Ko Maging Pornstar’ and met Aljur Abrenica during the filming of ‘Nerissa.’ Last year, AJ made headlines when she had her breast implants removed, signaling another step in her evolving personal and professional journey.
