Kapuso comedienne AiAi Delas Alas recently shared her thoughts on Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo’s victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics and offered unsolicited advice to his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose.
In a Facebook video, AiAi celebrated Carlos’ remarkable achievement of winning two gold medals but also commented on a press conference where Chloe appeared alongside the athlete.
AiAi expressed discomfort with Chloe’s presence during the interview, particularly when she rested her chin on Carlos’ shoulder. “Parang na-off ako kasi si girly habang ini-interview si Carlos, nakasandal dito [sa balikat] ‘yung baba ni ate girl,” AiAi remarked.
The actress then humorously added, “Buti nalang pabilog si ate girl kasi kung ako ang [nakasandal] doon, patay! Sabog ‘yung balikat ni baby boy. Nakakaloka! Buti nalang pabilog siya, hindi siya patulis.”
Turning serious, AiAi offered advice to Chloe, suggesting that she should step aside during interviews. “Ate girl, dapat kapag hindi ka naman kasama sa interview, dito ka na lang sa side by side ng darling mo.Kasi siyempre, Olympian ‘yun, siya ‘yung ini-interview. Dapat hindi ka na medyo sumasali ng konti doon sa eksena,” AiAi advised.
AiAi also addressed the media, urging them to avoid delving into Carlos’ personal family issues during interviews, given that he is not part of the entertainment industry. “Tsaka sana doon naman sa mga nang-i-interview, utang na loob, huwag niyo na siya tanungin doon sa [isyu sa pamilya]. Hindi naman showbiz ‘yung bata,” AiAi pleaded.
She explained that these personal questions often lead to unnecessary drama. “Huwag niyo na siyang tanungin sa personal niyang buhay kasi nagke-create pa ng intriga. Kasi kaya nagkakaroon ng gulo kasi kayong mga nang-i-interview na hindi naman showbiz ‘yung bata, ‘yun ang topic,” AiAi added.
The comedienne’s comments come after a social media controversy involving Carlos and his family, particularly with his mother, Angelica. The public closely followed the tension between them, which also involved Chloe.
In one instance, Chloe shared an interview with Angelica, adding a pointed message of her own. In the post, Chloe wrote, “Mother dear I’m gonna hold your hand when i say this…pero wait ka lang, tapusin lang po namin yung vault finals–paki-on na your comment section po ah, ‘di yung nag dedelete ka pa + off com sec.”

Chloe also appeared to mock Angelica by mimicking the caption from one of her viral posts, writing, “Japan pa din talaga..lakas! but malakas din naman si Carlos Edriel Yulo, GOD IS WITH HIM [emoji].”
