ABS-CBN’s adaptation of the hit Korean series “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? (WWWSK)” concluded its Philippine broadcast last week. How did it perform in the ratings game?
According to the most recent rating reports from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, WWWSK managed to exit gracefully, securing a spot in the top 10 programs on the overall Sunday leaderboard.
On its penultimate episode on Saturday, July 13, the Kim Chiu and Paolo Avelino starrer posted a rating of 4.1 percent, taking the number 12 spot on the overall Saturday ratings board.
For its finale episode on Sunday, July 14, the series climbed to the number 6 spot on the overall Sunday ratings chart, although the rating slightly decreased to 4.0 percent.
WWWSK’s journey on Philippine TV has been marked by stable ratings performance. Its highest rating was recorded during its pilot episode on May 25, when it earned 4.4 percent. Its lowest rating was on June 9, when it posted 2.7 percent. Throughout its run, the series averaged a rating of 3.4 percent, a decent performance for a weekend program, considering most TV shows airing on Saturday and Sunday have single-digit ratings, with the exception of ‘Running Man Philippines’ and ‘Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho,’ which remain above the 10 percent mark.
Meanwhile, netizens and fans have praised the series, especially the finale episode.
On Twitter, @anianadp thanked the series’ lead stars Paolo Avelino and Kim Chiu for sharing ‘kilig’ and happiness to the viewers through their respective roles.
