During the media conference for ‘Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Gen 11’ on Thursday, July 4, a comment from TV host Robi Domingo sparked intrigue among attendees.
The conference, featuring hosts Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Bianca Gonzales, Enchong Dee, and Alexa Ilacad, included a discussion on how to protect the public from scammers misusing the PBB name.
Melai Cantiveros emphasized her practice of warning fans at mall shows to avoid paying for auditions, reiterating that official PBB auditions are free.
Robi Domingo added, “Maliban sa paggamit ng platform para makatulong, I guess constant reminder to everyone lang na hindi po nagpapabayad ‘yong ABS-CBN when it comes to auditions.”
Bianca Gonzales suggested verifying information from official accounts and seeking confirmation from others to avoid scams.
Robi agreed, adding, “Saka, ano, check ‘yong television sets. Kasi kahit anong mangyari, may ABS-CBN pa rin.”
Entertainment editor Jun Lalin quickly noted that Robi’s comment could be interpreted differently, even prompting a reaction from Bianca.
“Mayro’n, Robi?” Bianca inquired.
Jun followed up, “Huy, Robi, baka sabihin may pinaparinggan kang aktor, ha.”
Robi, taken aback, paused before Melai defended him, clarifying that he was merely addressing the legitimacy of information.
Robi then defended himself, denying any insinuation: “Wala po akong pinaparinggan, sinasagot ko lang po ‘yong tanong.”
This incident follows recent controversy involving Kapuso star Dennis Trillo, who was reportedly hacked on TikTok, leading to a sarcastic question about ABS-CBN’s status circulating online. Dennis clarified that he would never make such a comment, and his manager defended him against the ensuing criticism and speculation.
