A show’s strong ratings performance isn’t solely dependent on its own following but can also be influenced by the strength or weakness of its pre and post-programming.
This is evident in the case of TV5’s ‘Padyak Princess’ and ‘EAT…Bulaga.’
Since its disappointing pilot and continued underwhelming performance, ‘Padyak Princess’ seems to be affecting the post-programming success of ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ hindering its ability to compete with the Kapamilya rival, “It’s Showtime,” according to recent Nielsen NUTAM People survey reports.
On Monday, June 17, ‘Padyak Princess’ recorded a rating of 1.3 percent, 2.9 percent lower than its rival ‘Tiktoclock,’ which scored 4.1 percent. ‘EAT…Bulaga’ earned 3.6 percent, 5.2 percent behind “It’s Showtime,” which achieved 8.8 percent.
On Tuesday, June 18, the Miles Ocampo-led series slightly increased to 1.4 percent but still trailed ‘Tiktoclock’ by 2.4 percent, which posted 3.7 percent. ‘EAT…Bulaga’ dropped 0.1 percent to 3.5 percent, 4.5 percent lower than “It’s Showtime,” which had 8.0 percent.
On Wednesday, June 19, ‘Padyak Princess’ improved to 1.9 percent against ‘Tiktoclock’s’ 3.7 percent. ‘EAT…Bulaga’ retained its 3.5 percent, 5.0 percent behind “It’s Showtime,” which stood at 8.5 percent.
On Thursday, June 20, the TV5 pre-noontime series slightly dropped to 1.6 percent, 1.9 percent lower than ‘Tiktoclock’s’ 3.5 percent. The race between ‘EAT…Bulaga’ and “It’s Showtime” was at 3.6 percent versus 7.8 percent.
On Friday, June 21, ‘Padyak Princess’ further declined to 1.5 percent compared to ‘Tiktoclock’s’ 3.4 percent. ‘EAT…Bulaga’ retained its 3.6 percent, while “It’s Showtime” decreased to 7.4 percent.
