Record-breaking feats remain aplenty with ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, as it continues to lead all local weekday TV programs, in both online and traditional TV battlegrounds.
Coco Martin’s FPJ’s Batang Quiapo continues to clobber timeslot rival, Black Rider, with the Kapamilya show, keeping its position among all TV programs airing on weekdays, ratings-wise. The series has consistently defeated, not just the Ruru Madrid-starrer, but also GMA Network’s flagship primetime newscast, 24 Oras. On Monday, July 1, for example, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, logged a 14.6 people rating, according to Nielsen Philippines, higher than 24 Oras’ 13.6. The Kapuso newscast was the perennial overall top rater, before Batang Quiapo’s debut on February 13, last year.
As aforementioned, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo‘s stellar feats are not limited to rating-reliant victories, as it also regularly soars online, in terms of live concurrent viewers. On Kapamilya Online Live, the series has been on a record-breaking spree, since last week. The series first returned to half-a-million live concurrent online viewership on YouTube and Facebook, on Wednesday, June 25, and went on to setting new online viewership records on the succeeding Thursday, and Friday.
On Wednesday, June 26, the Kapamilya action-drama, pulled off a 501k live concurrent viewers (combined from YouTube and Facebook). The episode featured the first meeting of the characters played by Coco Martin and Ara Davao. The following day, Thursday, June 27, the series logged a combined total of 516.9k peak concurrent viewers, which was a new record for the 17 month-TV series. The record-breaking craze extended to Friday, with FPJ’s Batang Quiapo drawing 523.2k peak accumulated viewers on YouTube and Facebook.
The series started the new week and month, with still more than half-a-million concurrent viewers on Monday, July 1. It was last night, July 2, however, that the series nearly set a new post-ABS-CBN franchise denial record, for any local FV series.
With more than 535,000 live concurrent viewers on YouTube and more than 15,500 on Facebook, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, pulled off an exceptional 550,500 combined live concurrent viewers. The series notably came just 1,500 short of setting a new Philippine record, and obliterating the 536.5k logged by the finale episode of another Coco Martin-topbilled drama, Ang Probinsyano.
With the events on the currently no.1 TV series in the country, expected to get more intense in the future, it is expected that new milestones will be made by succeeding episodes. New Kapuso show, Pulang Araw, which is slated to replace Black Rider, on July 29, ought to be ready.
