Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste has addressed the public for the first time since Kris Aquino, his former partner, confirmed that she has a new boyfriend.
Leviste made it clear that he and Aquino remain on good terms, stressing that there is no animosity between them.
“As Kris said, we’re still ‘friendly.’ Sa totoo lang, wala naman nagbago sa akin, at wala din naman akong sama ng loob at hinanakit sa kanya. As a matter of fact, I am in the States now, while Bimb is back home,” Leviste said.
He also reassured Aquino and her family of his continued support. “I assured Kris, Bimb, Kris’s sisters, and their household help in Orange County that if there’s anything I can do for them, I’ll be there. If I am needed in any way, I will make myself available for them immediately,” he added.
Leviste’s remarks come after Aquino refuted claims of a reconciliation between them. In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Aquino made it clear that they have moved on. “Yes definitely, walang balikan na mangyayari. Nagkalabuan na magmula November. Sinubukang ayusin pero may mga nalaman ako na hindi ko gusto,” she said.
Aquino confirmed that her new boyfriend is a Filipino doctor based in Makati. She expressed confidence that his presence would ensure her health and well-being, making it possible for her to return home.
“He’s part of the reasons why I’m confident na pwede akong umuwi, kasi alam ko na there’s someone who will help in taking care of me. So obviously, by saying that, alam na nila na he’s a doctor based in the Philippines — in Makati,” Aquino stated.
Despite the end of their relationship, Leviste’s comments highlight a continued commitment to Aquino and her family, underscoring the amicable nature of their separation.
