Kira Balinger, star of the romantic comedy ‘Chances Are You and I,’ emphasized on May 13 that she is currently living without regrets, just in case something unfortunate happens to her.
In the film, Balinger portrays Gabriel Sinag, a character facing a terminal illness. Similar to her character’s outlook, she believes in living life to the fullest.
“I am already living life to the fullest,” said the rising star at the movie’s press conference at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City. “I’m telling the people, my loved ones, that I cared about them bago mahuli ang lahat. Kasi malay po natin, p’wede po akong matsugi bukas at hindi ako magiging masaya sa life ko.”
Balinger, much like her character, maintains a positive outlook on life.
Nothing can stop her from being happy, not even disappointments and failures.
“Pero life is beautiful and it should be cherished kahit gaano man kapangit ang nangyayari sa buhay natin. If you know where to look or if you can look hard enough, you will find something good. And I think na yes, we should be processing the bad ng maayos. Pero siyempre, huwag po nating hayaan na lamunin tayo ng lungkot, ng galit, ng disappointment and let it stop us from living our life to the fullest.”
Balinger stars alongside Kelvin Miranda in the movie directed by Catherine “CC” O. Camarillo. During the press conference, she also shared her initial impression of her leading man, which was initially negative.
According to her, she first met Miranda during the film’s look test. Initially, she perceived him as a typical “bad boy” due to his appearance and demeanor.
“So when we showed up to the look test, diyan po kami unang nagkakilala sa look test. Nakahikaw siya, naka-leather jacket siya, hahaha,” she recalled. “Alam mo, siya ‘yung typical na bad boy ganoon. Eh ako, medyo bad experience ako sa bad boy.”
However, her perception quickly changed as she got to know him better.
“When I got to know him more, nalaman ko na napakalalim niyang tao. Totoo. He’s a very deep person, he’s very wise, and kita niyo naman, he has a lot to say because he really thinks. And bukod doon, he’s a very generous actor.”
Catch Kira and Kelvin in ‘Chances Are You and I’ in cinemas nationwide starting May 29.
