Latest addition to the ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ cast, Kim Domingo has credited her explosive debut on the popular series to the meticulous guidance of Coco Martin.
Domingo’s first appearance as Madonna featured a gripping, action-packed fight scene with Martin’s character, Tanggol.
During an interview at the Kapamilya Karavan held in Batangas City on Saturday, Domingo shared how Martin’s hands-on approach significantly enhanced her performance.
“Sobrang dami kong natutunan kay Coco. Talagang focused siya. Gusto niya kapag lumabas ka, talagang maangas. Sabi niya, ‘Ayaw niya mapagtatawanan ka’—kaya talagang minsan siya ang nagdidirek: ‘Kim, dito ka, diyan ka,’” she said.
Domingo expressed her gratitude for the positive feedback she has received from viewers, which motivates her to keep improving.
“Sobrang grateful ako sa lahat ng magandang feedback. Mas pagbubutihin ko pa,” she added.
The actress also revealed that her role as Madonna fulfills her long-time aspiration to perform in an action series.
“I did a bit before. Pero first time ko mag-action na may gun ako, ‘yung knife. Masasabi ko ito pinakamatindi kong action. Challenging siya pero natutuwa ako,” she explained.
Domingo recalled how a conversation at an event led to her casting in the series and expressed her gratitude to GMA Network for allowing her to take on this challenging role.
Other cast members of ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ praised Martin not only for his acting but also for his directorial prowess.
“Maliit na bagay. Record-breaking! Normal na sa Batang Quiapo! Shout-out sa galing ni Direk Coco at production. Dahil sa galing at talino nila, nalalabas ginagawa naming acting. Siya ‘yung magician,” said Bigmak.
“Genius si Direk Coco,” added Mammoth.
The Sublian Festival Kapamilya Karavan also featured performances from other ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ cast members, including Ara Davao, Yukii Takahashi, Bassilyo, Kial, and Baby Giant. Cast members from ‘Pamilya Sagrado’ and ‘High Street’ were also present at the event.
