TV host-dancer Jackie Gonzaga recently addressed the viral video that showed her dancing energetically at a bar in La Union.
The ‘It’s Showtime’ co-host clarified that she was not intoxicated when filmed dancing to Tyla’s ‘Water’ at a bar in San Juan, La Union.
Jackie explained that she was aware of the numerous people taking videos and photos of her as she danced enthusiastically amidst the crowd. She emphasized that her trip to La Union was spontaneous and unplanned.
“That weekend talaga, biglang na-cancel ‘yung work ko. So sabi ko ah, sige sayang naman ‘yung day so spend the day wisely to have fun, you know a little party,” she told ABS-CBN in an interview.
When asked if she was drunk that night, Jackie responded, “Hindi naman (talagang masaya lang).”
So ‘yung hype nila sa akin ‘Jackie! Jackie!’ Kada music, hina-hype nila ako!” she added, referring to the enthusiastic crowd.

Jackie, also known as Ate Girl, described her appearance in the video, “’Yung itsura ko doon, pawis na pawis.
The viral video reached Vice Ganda, who messaged Jackie the following day to check on her.
“Minessage niya ako the next day, kasi nga ‘yung video the next day kalat na. Sabi ko, ‘Ate, nasa Elyu (La Union) ako, I’m with my friends.’
Vice Ganda expressed his concern, especially seeing the crowded setting in the video. Jackie reassured him that she was with her friends and appreciated his concern.
Sabi ko, ‘Thank you Ate. Yes next time talagang mag-iingat na talaga ako,’” Jackie concluded.
