Gerald’s history of humanitarian efforts dates back to Typhoon Ondoy in 2009, where he was widely recognized for his contributions. Over the years, he has consistently donated and actively participated in relief efforts for various natural disasters, cementing his reputation as a reliable and compassionate public figure.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) recently upgraded Typhoon Carina (international name “Gaemi”) to a super typhoon. As of Wednesday afternoon, July 24, Carina was packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 230 kph. Although the super typhoon is expected to make landfall over Taiwan, it continues to draw the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” towards the Philippines, causing intense rains and gusty conditions over Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
At 3 p.m., the center of the eye of the super typhoon was located 395 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes, and it is projected to continue moving northwestward at a speed of 20 kph.
Gerald Anderson is also preparing for his upcoming action movie with director Erik Matti, known for the critically acclaimed film ‘On the Job.’
