Filipina drag queen Eva Le Queen will represent the Philippines in the inaugural season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: Global All Stars,’ as announced by World of Wonder early Tuesday.
Eva joins 11 other queens from various international franchises, each representing their home countries.
Eva, who was a Top 4 finalist in the first season of ‘Drag Race Philippines’ in 2022, expressed her enthusiasm for showcasing Asian culture on a global stage in her Meet The Queens introduction.
“In ‘Drag Race Philippines,’ I did pretty well, I was Final 4. I always go for breathtaking looks, I use my body, my artwork, my wigs, my face to tell a story and start conversations,” Eva shared. She acknowledged the influence of trailblazing Eastern drag queens like Pangina Heals and emphasized her aim to highlight the excellence from Asia.
“It’s high time for Asian drag excellence to be in the Hall of Fame. I’m representing the Philippines but at the same time Asia in general because I started my drag in Singapore with the influences of my sisters from Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong,” Eva said. “And I know that what I am going to show is a culmination of lots of the beauty, the artistry, the culture, that we all have from that side of the world and now we’re bringing it to the global stage.”
