Viewers were taken aback when Elijah Canlas’s character, Pablo Caballero, abruptly exited the popular show ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.’
Initially seen as a key figure, being the heir of Don Facundo (Jaime Fabregas) and Senora Bettina (Tessie Tomas), Pablo’s departure raised many eyebrows.
In a recent interview on the vlog ‘Ogie Diaz Inspires,’ host Ogie Diaz inquired about Canlas’s mental health due to the demanding roles he plays in both ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ and ‘High Street,’ where he portrays Archimedes (Archie).
Canlas candidly responded, saying he manages his mental health through regular psychiatric consultations with his family. He emphasized the importance of staying busy to avoid overthinking, which helps him cope with the stress of his roles.
Despite his efforts, it appears that balancing the two series proved too challenging. In the July 4 episode of ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ Pablo meets his end at the hands of Tanggol (Coco Martin), who seeks vengeance for the wrongs done to Ivana (Bubbles Paraiso).

Tanggol fulfills his promise of avenging Bubbles, also ending the life of Pablo’s loyal aide, Ruben (Yce Navarro). The show’s intense July 2 episode set a new viewership record with 532,780 peak concurrent views on Kapamilya Online Live.
