Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo has sparked controversy among Kapamilya fans following his responses to inquiries about his wife Jennylyn Mercado’s absence from the new GMA Network Station ID and rumors of her potential move to ABS-CBN.
The incident began when a fan on TikTok asked why Jennylyn was not featured in the Station ID and whether she was transferring to ABS-CBN.
This exchange quickly went viral, prompting confusion and disappointment among fans who questioned why Jennylyn, a loyal GMA Network artist for two decades, was excluded from the Station ID.

Trillo responded sarcastically, “May ABS pa ba?” This comment triggered a wave of reactions, with one fan pointing out Jennylyn’s current collaboration with Star Music, ABS-CBN’s music arm.
Trillo reiterated his controversial comment, “Oo eto ulit oh, may ABS pa baaaah????” and challenged netizens to screenshot his statements, adding, “Desisyon ko, may reklamo ka?
Ugaling sanggano.

The backlash escalated on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, leading to numerous fans expressing their discontent.

In response, Dennis Trillo’s management, through Jan Enriquez, released a statement claiming that the actor’s TikTok account had been hacked.
“We would like to inform the public that Dennis Trillo’s TikTok account was hacked around noontime today, July 1, 2024. Several comments were made using his name, and we assure everyone that these remarks did not come from Dennis. He is known for his kindness and respect, and these comments are out of character for him. We are currently addressing the issue to prevent it from happening again. Thank you.”
This incident is reminiscent of a similar controversy in 2019 when Trillo’s Twitter account was hacked, leading to sarcastic comments about GMA Network’s failure to congratulate him on his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Actor win. At that time, Trillo clarified that he was unaware of the tweets made in his name.
