Senior Vice President for Content Creation Valerie del Rosario emphasized on May 16 that with Viva hitting 11 million subscribers, one of their main goals remains clear: to help their talents go mainstream.
During a press conference at Viva Café, some members of the press wondered if Viva artists have the opportunity to become talents on popular TV networks. Boss Val emphasized that despite releasing films and series on Vivamax, Viva remains a talent agency committed to pushing their artists to mainstream platforms.
“Happy po kami, definitely, that we are being recognized like sa mainstream. But at the end of the day, kami po ay isang talent agency as well. So aside from having Vivamax, we are in the business of pushing artists to like make it to the mainstream,” said the Viva executive.
With artists like Angeli Khang, Salome Salvi, and AJ Raval successfully transitioning to mainstream media, Vivamax’s impact is evident. Khang and Salvi now star in GMA Network’s ‘Black Rider,’ while Raval had a stint in the ABS-CBN series, ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’
Although they are now enjoying careers as new TV actresses, Boss Val stressed that these artists will always remain Viva talents.
“We are happy, and they are still Vivamax stars. So, while doing mainstream stuff, they are still doing Vivamax materials,” she pointed out.
The current Vivamax Queen, Khang, is said to be making a Vivamax film on top of her appearance on “Black Rider.”
On top of these successful Vivamax stars, 11 new talents have emerged, hoping to make it mainstream. These are Dyessa Garcia, Rica Gonzales, Christy Imperial, Arah Alonzo, Vern Kaye, Athena Red, Alessandra Cruz, Jenn Rosa, Candy Veloso, Mariane Saint, and Skye Gonzaga.
