With the resurgence of various illnesses, TV host-actress Maine Mendoza is calling on fans to respect health protocols, especially when asking for selfies with their favorite celebrities.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Maine highlighted the importance of not asking celebrities to remove their facemasks for photos. She emphasized that facemasks are not just for anonymity but also for health and safety reasons.
“Random thought dahil ang daming may sakit ngayon,” Maine started her post.
She continued, “People should stop asking anyone to take off their masks when posing for a photo. Some public figures wear masks in public for reasons beyond just avoiding recognition.”
Maine pointed out that working while sick is challenging and that wearing facemasks helps prevent the spread of viruses. “Sometimes, some individuals opt to wear masks because they are unwell and prefer not to risk contracting or spreading a virus,” she added.
Maine concluded with a heartfelt message, “Ang hirap magtrabaho nang masama ang pakiramdam kaya ingat always, fam.”

In a recent interview, Maine shared that she has been struggling with severe rhinitis for almost a week. “Kuwento ko lang, I’ve been struggling with the worst rhinitis ever, and I was worried it would get triggered during the show because I’ve been sneezing non-stop since last Wednesday,” she said.
