Newcomer Beaver Magtalas denied on May 15 that he and his ‘When Magic Hurts’ co-star Maxine Trinidad were dating.
Earlier in April, Magtalas was linked with Trinidad after he took her to his Junior-Senior Prom at his school in Nueva Ecija. There were also assumptions that he and his ‘When Magic Hurts’ leading lady, Mutya Orquia, were dating, sparking rumors of a love triangle.
During an interview for his movie, Magtalas reiterated that there was nothing romantic between him and any of his female friends. The budding young actor concluded that their newfound closeness might have led people to assume he was dating Trinidad.
“Hindi po! Friends lang po kami. Of course, me and Maxine got closer din like me and Mutya. Siguro doon po ang misunderstanding na baka may something kami since well, we got closer na hindi naman po kami ganoon before.
“Kaming dalawa ni Mutya, since before, we’ve been close and very public to the media na friends kami. So I feel like ‘yun po talaga ang misunderstanding,” the young actor explained.
Magtalas, who made his silver screen debut in the sci-fi movie ‘Genius Teens,’ also noted that he is not yet ready to enter a relationship. His current focus is on his blossoming career.
“I know for a fact na hindi rin po ako ready to have a girlfriend with everything that’s been happening for the both of us who want to focus on our careers.”
‘When Magic Hurts’ is his first movie lead role. It is directed by Gabby Ramos under REMS Entertainment Production.
