Alfred Vargas expressed thanks to National Artist Nora Aunor for her unwavering support during the production of the film ‘Pieta.’

During a thanksgiving press conference held at SuperSam, Vargas addressed and refuted persistent rumors suggesting he purchased the award.
“Una, hindi po totoo yun. Tapos, pangalawa, sa lahat po ng mga nakapanood ng Pieta, malalaman nila. So, manood sila ng Pieta. Mabigat itong trophy. Every inch, every gram nito, pinaghirapan natin. Pinaghirapan po natin kaya proud na proud po tayo,” he calmly answered.
His manager, Lolit Solis, vehemently supported him, denouncing the allegations as baseless and asserting that such claims were mere fabrications circulating as fake news.
“Hindi ko binili ‘yun, ‘no! At hindi ko ini-scam. Nanalo siya on his own!” Lolit shared.
Solis, who manages Vargas, affirmed that the FAMAS Best Actor award was earned through merit and talent, dispelling any doubts about the legitimacy of his achievement. She humorously recounted an amusing incident during the press event when Vargas immediately handed her the weighty trophy upon arrival, prompting light-hearted banter about the responsibilities and fears associated with holding such an esteemed award.
